Atlanta, GA, June 23, 2025– Murata today announced the upcoming release of its Type 2NR wireless module, an ultra-small, highly integrated solution engineered to meet the growing demands of space-constrained and power-sensitive IoT applications. Measuring just 7.4 mm x 7.0 mm x 1 mm, it is based on Nordic Semiconductor’s latest nRF54L15 SoC and delivers robust wireless performance, low power consumption, and broad protocol support. Additionally, it allows designers to build feature-rich IoT products that meet today’s miniaturization and power efficiency needs without compromising wireless performance or security.

Ideal for smart home, medical, industrial, and enterprise IoT edge devices, the Type 2NR supports Bluetooth® Low Energy 6.0, IEEE 802.15.4, NFC-A tag, and Matter over Thread, enabling seamless connectivity across a wide range of ecosystems. The module will be fully certified (FCC/IC/ETSI/TELEC), includes a built-in antenna with an external option, and requires minimal external components – streamlining development and accelerating time to market.

With a 128 MHz Arm® Cortex®-M33 core, 256KB RAM, and 1524KB RRAM, the module supports advanced edge processing. Its rich I/O interface (32 GPIOs), advanced security (PSA Certified Level 3), and support for Bluetooth 6 Channel Sounding make it an ideal choice for compact devices that require secure, responsive, and location-aware wireless communication.
